<\/a>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\nThey were mesmerizing.
I honestly cannot remember the last time I went to a show and could not take my eyes and ears off of the live performance for a second. It's hard to keep that kind of magic hypnosis going when you're a touring pro attending a show. And still, I. Could. Not. Look. Away. I heard equal parts Zappa, Crimson, Dillinger, and too many other avant-garde and prog-nerd references to remember. But never for a second did they sound like anything other than them, due at least in part to the unique instruments they were playing (I won't spoil that).
The audience also had what I can only imagine was a prime FZ vibe - some folks were clearly there to nerd it up and take in the extremely complex music, while others were there just because it was the freakiest fucking thing in the city that night and that's where those folks go.
